MB water in 45 days, says KCR

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said that the flagship Mission Bhagiratha scheme will be fructified with 98 per cent of works completed. He said that Kalesharam and other irrigation project works should complete on time and give waters to Mission Bhagiratha scheme. In addition to Rs 25,000 cr budget, the government procured another Rs 20,000 cr from banks and financial institutions for the projects he said. Since people are pinning hopes on the water scheme the irrigation projects should be completed on priority basis. During a review meeting with officials at Pragathi Bhavan here the Chief Minister said that in 45 to 50 days safe drinking waters will be supplied to the doorsteps of the poor in villages. We are just to reach the task of giving safe waters to the people in one and half month time, KCR said. Entire state will get potable waters in a couple of months and the scheme got accolades across the country. Some other countries are evincing keen interest to replicate the scheme and if necessary we will send our officials to help them, the chief minister said. He asked irrigation minister T Harish Rao and officials to speed up the Devadula works.

He appreciated Harish Rao for his persistent efforts to complete the projects. The people expecting Harish will complete the projects he said. Harish and officials should inspect the Kaleshwaram and other projects’ works every 10 days he said. KCR also commended the electricity officials for timely power supply to the projects. Telangana has produced 3000 mw solar power so far and 500 mw will be generated soon he said.
